Mummy Jars!!!

Hey ya'll! It's Amanda of course! Loving the cooler weather? I am! It's October!! WOOHOO!!! :D So yeah, Halloween is coming up and it's time to decorate the house people!! I came across this cute crafty idea from Crafts Re-Designed's blog! So again, I am taking no credit!! :D However, in her post she does state that this idea was snagged off of Pinterest! My home away from home! :D So here's the post .. And for those who would rather not click the linky here it is!!

Mummy Jars

Have you been on Pinterest?

If you need an invite, let me know. {but I'm going to warn you that it's VERY addictive!!!}
If you had been there, you would see that there are 100's of Mummy Jar Ideas. I LOVE them.

 My friend MaryRuth made some and emailed me a picture a few days ago and I HAD to make some before Halloween was here. They are SOOOO easy!!!! {I made two sets of these in less than 30 minutes and for about $2}. I got the LED battery candles. {in the Christmas section at Walmart}

Take old canning jars {or pickle jars, or baby food jars, the possibilities are endless}
get sterile medical gauze that you can buy at walmart (in the pharmacy section)
and then you paint modge podge
all over the bottle
start at the bottom
and start wrapping
you'll need to put
modge podge between the layers of gauze
you only do one layer of gauze
but slightly overlap each layer
and then when its all how you like it
you paint a layer of modge podge on top of the whole thing really quick
and then glue on googly eyes {I like the big ones on the big bottles} with even more modge podged. {or E6000}
that's it.

I stretched and frayed my gauze a little to make it a little more messy. Then add candles. Tea lights or battery LED ones. SOOOOO cute!!! and SO easy to make! Go ahead make 100 of them.

Well! I hope you enjoyed this neat idea! And of course browse that good old Pinterest for some more decorating ideas for the holidays! Now for some scrapping!! I wanted to show off this lovely template today.. This is Just Peachy Vol.4!

Name in a Frame!

How's everyone's Wednesday going?! Hope it's well! It's Amanda here with your this & that post for the week! I have something lovely for you today! Having trouble figuring out what to add to that room with the dull wall? Well I have something that will perk it up!

NAME IN A FRAME!!!

Name in a frame, I love this! Wood letters attached to the wall, add a wood frame and project done :) Super cute for a kid's room or with your family's last name in the living room. Love the name!!

It's pretty self explanatory.. Go to your local craft store and you will find all that you need :D As you can see the letters are just wooden letters, painted and mounted directly onto the wall with a frame placed around it.. The paint on the wall is used for the background of the frame! Cute and simple right!? You can use this idea to add a little something to your children's room, of course using their name.. But you can also have words of encouragement! Make one for the living room too! You can also purchase the smaller wooden letters that way you can put a quote or saying inside the frame. I love this idea and can't wait to try it! Hope ya'll like it too!! :D

&&No to some scrapping shall we? :D

Today I would like to show you this lovely template!!

Chore Charts Galore!

Hey guys! It's Amanda back with this weeks This&That post!! So, school's started or just about to start for your little ones... Things must be quite hectic transitioning from summer vacation back to that daily school routine, huh? I was thinking of what to post this week and I thought a simple organizing tip would be helpful for all of us! A Chore Chart! You can make them in so many ways!! :D Like so...

A simple Whiteboard Chore Chart!

Simply get a whiteboard of any size and shape, decorate how ever you'd like, add some stickies of some sorts, just go crazy! -- You can also do this with a blackboard!

Then we have....
Sticky Note Chore Charts!

And of course you can play around with color schemes, and placement of the stickies. Just go nuts with it!

There are also charts you can craft together, pin boards make wonderful charts! Using thumb tacks help make it easy to change things around! Go to your local craft store and see what you can come up with, get creative ladies!! The kids will enjoy the nifty look of the chart and would hopefully want to use it! Add some colorful fun stickers and "rewards" if you'd like! -- You can also go online and find some free printable chore charts! So get started ladies, a little organizing may help your days go by a little smoother now that school's here!

And now... Some template fun!! :)

Today I would like to showcase Soft & Sweet template pack!

Chalkboards! && Freebie!!

Hey there! Amanda here :) With this weeks This and That post! Well ofcourse I am always browsing on Pinterest for some neat ideas to try.. Well I came across this simple DIY project ANYONE can do! It will add a little something fun to your house decor AND you can always change it up a bit! Well this idea is from The Creativity Exchange :) I just found her blog and I love it! I probably will do a little more snooping around at her neat ideas :D

Make a Chalkboard- How to make chalkboard- how to paint glass

So it's pretty simple.. Well very simple actually! So take a picture frame you want to use, anything at all.. :D  Get some chalkboard paint and paint the outside part of the glass in the frame! And then hang it up and chalk it up! What's great about this is that you can change whats in the frame just by simply erasing the board! Use plain old white chalk or even add some color :) Have the little ones draw a nice picture for you to show any room of the house! Or for a helpful way you can hang this up in your kitchen or study and use it for notes, anything important you need to jot down! I will definitely be doing this! Heck I may even have one in each room once I get my own place! So enjoy and have fun with it girls!
